House of Film and D Street Media Group reach deal for U.S. release of "Jail Caesar" 

CANNES - House of Film and D Street Media Group are excited to announce that they have reached an agreement for the U.S. release of Jail Caesar, a remarkable and unique film about the early life of Julius Caesar. Ava B. of House of Film closed the deal with Dexter Davis of D Street Media Group.

Jail Caesar reveals the tumultuous story of one of history's foremost personalities from the confines of three high-security prisons across the globe.  The select cast of celebrated classical actors is led by Sir Derek Jacobi and John Kani, and joined by hundreds of prisoners, some taking leading parts. Produced by Alice Krige, the film premiered in Cannes with a high-profile screening and cocktail.

Echo Bridge Plans Moomins Holiday Release

Echo Bridge will release Moomins & Midsummer Madness on DVD for the holidays after a broadcast deal closed between Starz and House Of Film.

The Moomins originated more than 65 years ago and the property has spawned a nine-book series, TV episodes, a comic book franchise and merchandising.

The property owners are also planning to broaden the franchise’s appeal with the 3D feature Moomins And The Comet Chase.

Bjork created the theme song and Max von Sydow and Stellan Skarsgaard are among the voice talent. The producers are currently out to US distributors.

The film has been released in France, Finland and Iceland and offers are in from other territories.

Moomins Go Global

Los Angeles, USA; Helsinki, Finland – October 8th 2012 – House of Film, an up and coming sales company, and Filmkompaniet, a Finnish production company, are overjoyed to see their co-operation in the worldwide sales of The Moomins movies and TV series result in the global expansion of the beloved, legacy children’s franchise.  Recent deals include a USA broadcast of the feature Moomins & Midsummer Madness by Starz on Starz Kids & Family. Echo Bridge has picked up all remaining North American rights for the movie and will release it on DVD for the holidays. The Moomins TV series has been licensed by Beijing based JY Entertainment for China and Synergetic will distribute in North America to both the English and Spanish language markets.  

Other licensing include the TV series for Japan by NHK with top actors performing the dub. Turner EMEA has created an English dub and picked up the series for multiple European territories as well as for parts of Africa and the Middle East. Nordisk Films has acquired all rights for Scandinavia. "We always believed there could be a place in the hearts of children the world over for the Moomins, now it is becoming a reality, "comments Tom Carpelan, Moomin programs producer.
